Model Sues Real Housewife for Slander

(CN) - Polish-American model and actress Joanna Krupa says in a federal lawsuit that she was wrongfully accused of adultery and subjected to malicious statements about her body on a popular TV show.

Krupa is known for her appearances on the reality TV shows "Dancing with the Stars," "Poland's Next Top Model" and "The Real Housewives of Miami." Her lawsuit stems from a Nov. 11, 2013 broadcast of "What What Happens: Live," a "reunion" special featuring several of the Bravo channel's reality show stars.

In a complaint filed in Miami-Dade County, Krupa claims that during the show defendant Brandi Glanville, of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" fame, falsely stated that she, Krupa, had sex with Palestinian real estate developer Mohamed Hadid while he was married to the Dutch former model Yolanda Foster.

According to the complaint, Glanville also said during the show that Hadid told her that Krupa's "p---sy smelled." "Glanville then claimed that the defamatory statements were true, and that Lisa Vanderpump [another "Real Housewives" star] witnessed Mr. Hadid's statements," the complaint states.

Krupa says that shortly after the broadcast, Hadid, Foster and Vanderpump each publicly stated that Glanville's statements were false, and Hadid denied ever making those declarations about plaintiff.

But the damage was done, Krupa says.

The malicious statements were broadcasted nationally and internationally, on television and the Internet. The complaint says that the false allegations are still available to the worldwide and Florida audience, and can republished and rebroadcasted "on demand" through the Internet.

Krupa says that on December 16, 2014, Glanville continued to defame plaintiff when she published more false statements on Bravo's "Watch What Happens: Live" YouTube channel, "Bravo's Watch What Happens: Live Clubhouse."

Glanville stated "that Mrs. Krupa's vagina was malodorous, asking host Andy Cohen, in relation to Mrs. Krupa, if he got food poisoning from bad sushi," the complaint says. Defendant ended her comments when she said that Mrs. Krupa was stunning "but you can't help the odor situation."

Krupa says Glanville never retracted her false allegations, even after being informed that a lawsuit against her for claims of libel, slander and defamation was imminent.

She seeks compensatory damages on claims of slander, slander per se and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Krupa is represented by Raymond Rafool from Rafool & Hernandez of Miami, Fla.
