1st Circuit

EMPLOYMENT, JURISDICTION – The 1st Circuit allowed an employer to file for declaratory judgment against a former employee, who is also an Israeli citizen, in Massachusetts. The circuit concluded that the district court put too much emphasis on a pending lawsuit in Israel and should have favored the plaintiff’s choice of a home forum in Massachusetts, where jurisdiction was appropriate. Reversed. See ruling.
