$3.7 Million Award for Trench Collapse

BELLEVILLE, Ill. (CN) – A St. Clair County jury awarded $3.7 million to the family of a man who was killed in a trench collapse.     Ron Yankey, 37, and a 48-year-old co-worker were killed in March 2008 when a trench they were working in during construction of a sewage treatment plant collapsed.      Both families sued Followell Construction, of Marion, Ill., the project’s general contractor.      The other family is awaiting trial.
