5th Circuit Lets FEMA |End Hurricane Assistance

NEW ORLEANS (CN) – Hurricane victims are not legally entitled to a “continuing stream of payments” from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the 5th Circuit ruled. The decision reversed U.S. District Judge Helen Berrigan’s June 2007 ruling that FEMA should not end housing subsidies for many victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. See ruling.
