7th Circuit

ARBITRATION, TRIBAL LAW – In a dispute over a gaming compact between Wisconsin and the Ho-Chunk Nation, the 7th Circuit found that the district court had jurisdiction over the lawsuit and that the nation’s sovereign immunity was abrogated by Congress and waived by the nation. Remanded to determine if the underlying claims are subject to arbitration. See ruling.
