BATON ROUGE, La. — An innocent Black man, who spent 35 years in prison after he was wrongly convicted for raping a white woman in 1985, saw his claims against three state forensic experts dismissed on grounds of official immunity in Louisiana federal court. The jury was told no fingerprint evidence, including prints in blood, connected him to the crime, but he was still convicted due to the mistaken testimony of the victim herself. A different person has since been identified as the attacker.
