Age verification laws

GULFPORT, Miss. — A federal court in Mississippi granted a social media trade organization’s motion for a preliminary injunction barring the state from enforcing a new law that requires digital service companies to verify users’ age and require parental consent for minors to register on their sites. The organization, NetChoice, will likely win that the law is unconstitutional under the First and 14th Amendments.
