Abbott & Paxton documents

AUSTIN, Texas — A Texas appeals court upheld the lower court’s decision not to rule in favor of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Governor Greg Abbott in a lawsuit seeking years of the politicians’ communications, including emails regarding the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. The court has jurisdiction to issue writs of mandamus against Paxton and Abbott to compel them to produce the documents under public records law.
