Aiding, abetting abortions

FORT WORTH, Texas — An appeals court in Texas upheld the trial court’s decision to deny an abortion fund’s motion to dismiss a Rule 202 petition to depose the Buckle Bunnies fund’s founder, as requested by someone who says the founder is illegally aiding and abetting abortions in the state. The Texas Citizens Participation Act, the state’s anti-SLAPP statute, was amended in 2019 to no longer consider Rule 202 petitions as a legal action under the act.
