AO Smith Failed To Warn, Couple Says

CAMERON PARK, CALIF. (CN) – One percent of A.O. Smith Corp. water heaters suffer “mass failures” and the company knows it, but “decided not to incur the expense of conducting a recall or warning campaign” after doing a cost-benefit analysis, claims a married couple who say three Smith water heaters leaked catastrophically and damaged their home. They demand punitive damages in El Dorado County Court. See complaint.
