SANTA ANA, Calif. (CN) – A California appeals court affirmed dismissal of an unfair competition complaint accusing Time Inc. of luring customers into buying books by offering a 21-day free trial that it did not honor. The plaintiff received the book he ordered and paid for, so he was unable to prove that he lost money or property through the offer. See ruling.
