ATF reverses zero-tolerance policy

AUSTIN, Texas — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has reversed its zero-tolerance policy that resulted in the revocation of gun stores’ federal firearms licenses when they submitted paperwork errors or otherwise committed non-willful violations of the Gun Control Act. An Austin gun store owner, Michael Cargill, voluntarily dismissed his lawsuit against the federal government over the rule in light of the reversal.
