Gary Aguirre, a former senior counsel with the SEC, sued the Commission in a FOIA complaint stemming from its firing him in 2005, allegedly because he was investigating “senior SEC officials … giving favored, special and thus unlawful treatment” to a man with “powerful political connections,” in DC Federal Court.
