Austin trafficking investigation ends in settlement

AUSTIN, Texas — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced he reached a $250,000 settlement with a Spanish-language immersion preschool and its owners, Enrique Rodriguez and Adriana Rodriguez. The state sued the company in 2021 for labor trafficking and allegedly telling foreign-born employees they would be deported or arrested if they did not work for either no pay or less pay than advertised.
