Bounty hunter safe from suit

SAN FRANCISCO — The Ninth Circuit upheld a judgment granted in favor of a sued bondsman and fugitive recovery agent, who was tasked with recovering a fugitive when an altercation involving a San Diego policeman ended in the police shooting and killing the fugitive’s boyfriend. The agent was not present or involved when the individual was shot and killed by police, so he is not liable for the shooting.
