DURANGO, Co. — A mother who said she was temporarily restricted from visiting her children’s elementary school after bringing Tarot cards to Grandparent’s Day and doing an oracle reading for her kindergartener can pursue a single claim for violation of her free exercise rights. Woodland Park School District did not provide any government interest that would have supported limiting the mother’s religious rights at a public event, especially since there was no evidence that the Tarot reading caused a disruption or harmed the other students, a Colorado federal judge ruled.
