Clerk, not babysitter

CHICAGO (CN) — A federal judge in Illinois sides with Dick’s Sporting Goods on a negligence lawsuit brought by a young teen’s mom, who sued after her son fell 20 feet after riding the railing of an escalator that a store employee told him to get down from. The store is not liable because its employees cannot be expected to “babysit unchaperoned children.”
