CHICAGO — The Seventh Circuit ruled that a lower court must reconsider its denial of a former Chicago police officer’s request for compassionate release from prison based on his prostate cancer and the Covid-19 pandemic. The former officer — convicted in 2007 of conspiracies to distribute drugs, robbery, and racketeering — is serving a 40-year sentence.
