Conspiracies in corporations

NEW ORLEANS — Under Louisiana law, the intra-corporate conspiracy doctrine generally keeps employees from being liable for conspiring with their employers. Because of this, ExxonMobil and a supervisor was able to dismiss two of 13 claims brought by a fired Black employee who says he was unfairly denied a promotion and ultimately fired after facing unequal treatment due to his race. No exception to the doctrine applied here that could have saved his conspiracy claims against them.
