PORTLAND, ORE. (CN) – A married couple claims Bend, Ore., attorney **Martin Hansen defamed them in five letters to property and construction companies that falsely accused them of taking a $3 million loan from the Bank of Cascades and sending the money to a Swiss bank. The letters from Hansen, acting as legal counsel for the Bank of Cascades , implied that the couple intended to steal the $3 million and avoid creditors, John and Cathy Schleining say. They say the false allegations cost them several business relationships. See complaint in Multnomah County Court.
