ST. LOUIS (CN) – The Federal Court building was evacuated today due to a bomb threat. The 29-story Thomas Eagleton Courthouse was evacuated about 9:45 a.m. Bomb sniffing dogs searched the building before people were allowed to return about 11:20 a.m. Mike Brincks, of the U.S. General Services Administration, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the U.S. Marshal Service decided to evacuate the building because of the threat. Security guards from U.S. Security Officers of America were picketing the courthouse today (Thursday). The guards were protesting the company’s new owners, MVM Security of Virginia, because they say MVM refuses to recognize existing union contracts.
