Defamation

The Arizona Supreme Court ruled that Arizona state Senator J.D. Mesnard is not immune from allegations he defamed former state Representative Don Shooter in a news release. Mesnard is, however, immune from defamation allegations relating to an investigatory report. Mesnard was presiding as House Speaker when Shooter was expelled from the legislature over sexual harassment allegations.
