MANHATTAN (CN) – Deutsche Bank will pay $553.6 million to settle criminal charges of providing fraudulent tax shelters that cost the U.S. Treasury billions. The German bank also must cooperate with U.S. inspectors under a nonprosecution agreement, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Tuesday in announcing the deal.
