WASHINGTON (CN) – The Department of Health and Human Services plans to allow digital radiography, in addition to film-based radiography, for medical examinations of underground coal miners. The agency seeks comment on proposed standards for digital radiography. The agency also plans to require coal mine operators to provide National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health with employee rosters to assist the Coal Workers’ Health Surveillance Program in improving participation by miners.
