Do you own your iTunes purchases?

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A California federal court denied an Apple customer’s motion to compel in his lawsuit accusing the tech giant of misleading consumers into believing they own the media they purchase on iTunes, when in reality their access to the material can be revoked by Apple at any time, making their purchases more akin to a rental or license. The complaint only revolves around the purchase of movies, TV shows and music, so the consumer may not produce information regarding “other media,” which is left unspecified in his motion.
