Doctor Sues Eatery Over Rude Waiter

QUEENS, N.Y. (CN) – A retired doctor says a rude waiter slandered him in a restaurant, falsely claiming that he “took a shit” on the restroom floor. The doctor, a frequent visitor to the Terrace Diner, says the waiter screamed at him and ordered him to leave the restaurant, after the doctor and another patron had discussed “the poor table service the patron felt they were receiving.”     Dr. Arnold Sheff sued the restaurant and its owner in Queens County Court. He wants punitive damages for slander and emotional distress. He is represented by Michael Borelli of Carle Place, N.Y.
