WASHINGTON (CN) – The Highway Traffic Safety Administration has changed the specifications for the new small adult female side impact crash test dummy, in response to a petition from a group of auto makers, and two crash test dummy manufacturers. Revisions include making the pelvis stronger and modifying some of the test procedures. For example, the new rules allow for a lower impact speed in two tests, and increase the recovery time allowed after impact for pelvis tests.
