Excessive Force

<p>A federal court in California <strong><a href="http://www.courthousenews.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/excessiveforcecalifornia.pdf">denied</a></strong> the City of Tehachapi’s motion for summary judgment in an excessive force case brought by a man who was shot twice in the back during a foot pursuit by police officers. There is a triable issue of fact as to whether the officers had a “reasonable belief” the man was armed at the time of the shooting.</p>

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A federal court in California denied the city of Tehachapi’s motion for summary judgment in an excessive force case brought by a man who was shot twice in the back during a foot pursuit by police officers.
