ST. CHARLES, Mo. (CN) – A 21-year-old man is charged with endangering the welfare of a child: allowing his 2-year-old to be injured in a casino while the father assaulted a 70-year-old man. Police said Evan Hassan Wormley walked into the Ameristar Casino with his son, who was wearing only a soiled diaper, and shook down a 70-year-old man and his daughter for money. Police say Wormley was drunk and pushed the man into a wall, dropping his son during the attack onto an industrial-sized floor sweeping machine. The 2-year-old and the 70-year-old man were both treated for minor injuries at a hospital and released. Wormley was arrested and additional charges could be pending, police say. The state took custody of the boy, who is being cared for by Wormley’s grandmother.
