Federal felonies can’t stop the revolving door

BOSTON — The Massachusetts Supreme Court agreed that the Secretary of the Commonwealth overstepped when he automatically denied a former House Speaker’s application to register as a lobbyist due to his seven federal felonies for selling political favors. Automatic denial is only allowed if the individual has been convicted of felonies under state law.
