‘Free Land Holders’ barred from bringing phones to court

DENVER — A group of sovereign citizens calling themselves the Free Land Holder Committee has been banned from bringing phones into the courthouse after two of its members tried to take a video inside the courthouse while filing documents with the county clerk’s office. A federal judge filed a text-only order directing security officers to confiscate the individuals’ electronic devices when they enter the courthouse and return them when they exit the building, and empowering the officers to refuse entry to the building if the citizens do not comply.
