God’s law flopped

DALLAS — A Texas appeals court upheld the lower court’s ruling in favor of a bank that was attempting to collect a credit card debt from a borrower. The borrower cited Deuteronomy 15 to challenge the judgment: “At the end of every seven years you must cancel debts.” But the evidence supports the damages claimed and the lower court correctly applied state law to the contract claim.
