LOS ANGELES (CN) – A North Hollywood recidivist faces up to 30 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to submitting $25 million in fraudulent Medicare bills, and getting $9.2 million from it. Susanna Artsruni aka Mary aka Rose pleaded guilty Monday to health care fraud and money laundering, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. While she ran the scam and laundered money, Artsruni was free on bond in another health-care fraud case, the U.S. attorney said. She submitted more than $24.8 million in bogus Medicare claims for “durable medical equipment” and medical tests that were unnecessary and often not provided. She ran Midvalley Medical Supply in Van Nuys. She will be sentenced on April 14. A second defendant, Erasmus Kotey, is scheduled for trial on April 8.
