Have false expert reports inflated settlements?

PHILADELPHIA — A federal court in Philadelphia declined to dismiss racketeering claims brought by Uber and FedEx against Philadelphia law firm Simon & Simon and several medical providers. The companies plausibly allege the lawyers directed chiropractors, pain specialists and medical experts to generate false reports portraying minor accident injuries as severe and permanent in order to pressure defendants into paying inflated settlements.
