WASHINGTON (CN) – The Department of Housing and Urban Development plans to change its rules to ensure decent housing and suitable living environment for all those eligible for its programs, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. The agency has found that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals and families are arbitrarily excluded from some housing opportunities in the private sector, and wants to ensure they have the opportunity to compete fairly for agency funds.
