IEP vaccine challenge tossed

SACRAMENTO — A federal judge threw out Brave and Free Santa Cruz’s lawsuit asserting that students using individualized education programs, or IEPs, should be exempt from the state's immunization requirements for school children. The group failed to show that any of its members’ unvaccinated children have been excluded from mainstream classes. The theory that they “may” be affected by a school district’s policies is not enough to establish standing.
