NEW YORK (CN) – The 2nd Circuit lowered the boom on an immigration judge who failed to tell a legal permanent resident facing removal about the availability of free legal services. “This constitutes reversible error,” Judge Straub wrote, “because the right to counsel concerns fundamental notions of fair play underlying the concept of due process.” See ruling.
