HARTFORD (CN) – Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel, serving 20 years to life for murder, has sued the warden of the MacDougall Correctional Institution in a habeas petition, demanding a new trial because, Skakel says, the state violated the 14th Amendment by “authoriz(ing) a criminal prosecution that the passage of time had previously barred.” See the Superior Court complaint.
