Killing Suspected on Cruise Ship

SAN DIEGO (CN) – A 55-year-old man faces federal charges of killing his wife on a Carnival Cruise Line ship off the coast of Mexico. Prosecutors say Robert McGill, of Winnetka, Calif., killed his wife in their cabin on the cruise ship Elation on July 14.     McGill was arrested and his hands and knuckles appeared “as if he had been in a fight,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. His wife, Shirley, was found dead in the bathroom. He is charged with killing his wife in international waters.     Robert McGill is in federal custody and is scheduled for a detention hearing on Thursday.
