SAN DIEGO — San Diego attorney Richard Medina Jr. was sentenced Tuesday to 5 years in federal prison for conspiring to operate an unlicensed money-transmitting business: sending $12 million through his IOLTA accounts to duck currency reporting laws, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
