Louisiana police face wrongful death claims

MONROE, La. — Two Louisiana police officers were unable to dodge a wrongful death suit filed by the family of a man who died in jail shortly after being tasered during a struggle with police. Body camera footage of the 12-minute altercation exists, and while some of its contents are unclear, “what is clear is that a reasonable jury viewing that footage could return a verdict” favoring the decedent.
