Missouri court will hear student’s claims of forcefully cut hair

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An appellate court in Missouri overturned the lower court’s decision in favor of a school district that was sued by a male wrestler for sex discrimination after his coach ordered his teammates to hold him down so the coach could cut his hair before a meet. A girl on the team did not have to cut her hair, and instead was provided a cap; it remains to be seen whether the male student was informed he had this option.
