Montana child abuse records

HELENA, Mont. — Montana state representative William Mercer won in the state’s appeal of a court ruling that requires the state’s human services department to disclose certain public records about child abuse and neglect records to Mercer. The Montana Supreme Court noted that the state law requires certain case records, which otherwise would be kept confidential, must be shown to legislators under certain conditions.
