NEW ORLEANS — An appeals court in Louisiana reversed a defendant’s conviction for attempted monetary instrument abuse arising from an incident in which he tried to use a fake $100 bill to buy beer at a convenience store. The bill was clearly marked “For Motion Picture Use Only,” so it didn’t meet the definition of “counterfeit.”
