Movie Pirate Could Go to Prison

LOS ANGELES (CN) – A San Diego County man faces up to 3 years in prison and a $250,000 fine after pleading guilty to uploading a copy of the movie “Slumdog Millionaire” so others could download it from the Internet.     Owen Moody, 25, of San Marcos, pleaded guilty to a criminal information on Wednesday, federal prosecutors said. He admitted uploading copies of the movie to three Internet sites. He will be sentenced on Oct. 5 by U.S. District Judge Gary Feess.
