Netflix fees flop

GRETNA, La. — An appeals court in Louisiana upheld the dismissal of a city’s class action attempting to collect video service franchise fees from internet streaming service providers such as Netflix and Hulu. These companies do not have franchise certificates and are exempt from these requirements under Louisiana’s Consumer Choice for Television Act.
