NFL Films faces wrongful death suit

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. — A widow accuses the production team behind the NFL’s “Hard Knocks” sports documentary series of overworking her husband to the point of exhaustion, which she said caused the man to develop chronic fatigue and ultimately die in a car accident on his way home from an overtime shift as a production assistant. The husband was forced to work from the NFL Productions head office for 61 “dangerously long consecutive, in-person, overnight shifts” when his car drifted in front of a tractor-trailer, according to the widow. NFL Productions is also accused of wage theft and mischaracterizing the production assistant’s employment to avoid paying him for his extensive overtime hours.
