No immunity for police

NEW ORLEANS — A federal court in Louisiana denied summary judgment to a white New Orleans levee policeman who was sued by two Black men for excessive force. They were injured when the cop shot into a silver Camaro, one of three cars that was doing donuts on the lakefront, but the shooting was not justified even if the men were attempting to evade arrest, because reckless driving is a relatively minor crime and the officer was not in danger of immediate harm.
