No objecting to others’ settlements

SAN FRANCISCO — The California Supreme Court upheld an appellate decision according to which a plaintiff suing under the Private Attorneys General Act does not have authority to object to a proposed settlement in another case against the same defendant, even if the claims overlap. The underlying lawsuit concerns wages of rideshare drivers for Lyft.
