No right to press credentials

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah legislative officials did not violate an independent journalist’s free speech rights when it rejected his application for media credentials. Bryan Schott, who founded the Utah Political Watch, still has access to the legislative session from the chamber galleries, can watch official legislative action on a livestream and is not restricted in what he can publish. The First Amendment does not ensure access to resources like office space or parking, which are among the privileges offered to approved journalists.
